Info: SubSensory’s 24th release features Costa Rica/US transplant, Mario Maroto. The Salem Cat EP follows Mario’s recent releases with Killing Machine and Land of Voodoo Records as well as signings with Supernature’s sub-label Half Seas Over and Wehbba’s 82 Records. Salem Cat showcases Mario’s strong production skills and an intimate understanding of today’s techno dancefloor. We believe you’ll really enjoy its stripped-down funkiness and ability to get the dancefloor moving.
Track two features fellow Costa Rican dj/producer Mario Miranda, who delivers with a super slick, tribal tech-house rework. Miranda’s been on fire lately with a string of releases hitting the top 10s at Beatport and other stores.
The JAK remix takes the vibe a little deeper with a rolling sub bass groove, smooth tribal rhythms and analog oddities – another great dancefloor filler.
The LilRoj mix is a stompier rework. Heavy bass, distortion, glitchy grooves and twisted breakdowns make Roj’s version a solid peak hour techno tool.
About Mario Maroto: DJ/Producer Mario Maroto started his career as a DJ more than 10 years ago. During this time he played and headlined at basically every single club in Costa Rica, including the famous Club Vertigo incalculable times.
He’s played at various venues in Miami, Portland, San Francisco & Panama such as Skyline , The Electric Pickle, the world famous Club Space in Miami, Grass, The River Lounge & The Crown Room in Portland to name a few
His slick tech-house and techno mixes are all surgically precise and harmonically fluent. Mario’s grooves are perfect music for today’s techno dancefloors.
As a producer & remixer Mario has done work for labels such as Half Seas Over (Supernature’s Sub label), Killing Machine Rec, Land Of Voodoo Rec, 82 Rec and SubSensory Recordings. His tracks are currently being played and supported by the likes of Nick Curly, Ray Opkara, Markus Fix, Audiofly, Kabuto&Koji, Ida Engberg, Dubfire & Steve Lawler amongst others.
