FUBAR // S.F. EDITIONFUBAR is every fourth friday. FUBAR is above all else, a DANCE PARTY. We strive to go a step beyond what is expected at a standard night and deliver a top quality audio and visual experience. FUBAR is proud to have hosted some of the most current and cutting edge producers touring the globe currently, a small sampling of talent that FUBAR has had a hand in hosting: Alex Smoke, Dilo, Appendics Shuffle, Frivolous, J. Phlip, Forest Green, Kill the Noise, LA Riots, Bryan Zentz, Nordic Soul, Jerry Abstract, Joee Irwin, and mooooore.

This month is a VERY SPECIAL FUBAR bringing up some of our best friends from San Francisco and Oakland.

MARC SMITH
Auralism Records

San Francisco, CA

Hailing from San Francisco, Marc Smith, co-founder of the super rad SF based techno label – Auralism Records. Marc routinely plays at some of the most prominent techno nights in SF and beyond. Auralism’s roots trace back to 2005, when Smith and Short, producing together as the duo Coalition of the Killing, realized they’d need an outlet to handle their formidable stockpile of unreleased tracks. After top-flight DJs began blowing up parties worldwide with their white labels, they knew what needed to be done: the only way to give the music the forum it deserved was to release it themselves. Thus began the vision for a driven, analog-centric label that will finally get Bay Area techno noticed by its European counterparts. From its original conception as a conduit for COTK’s output, the imprint has since matured into a diversified, international roster of artists both seasoned and newly arrived, including Elon (Made to Play), Alland Byallo (Kontrol SF), Miguel Colmenares (Subtropical), and Limaçon (Poker Flat). Auralism is very much a cooperative, encouraging its artists to experiment within its twisted, propulsive blueprint while pushing them to the outer limits of impeccable sound design. The label has also hit the ground running with some of the dirtiest throwdowns that San Francisco has seen in years, importing talents like Pier Bucci, Lee Curtiss, Billy Dalessandro, Appendics Shuffle, Exercise One, and Pan-Pot to go head-to-head with the label’s residents. With a release schedule jam-packed with new material, plus remixes commissioned from scene stalwarts such as Argenis Brito, Justin Maxwell, and Franklin De Costa, Auralism has firmly entrenched itself as a label to watch in 2007.

Brendan Finlayson
Refunktion
San Francisco, CA

Some of you may remember Brendan from the days of old school. One of the original members of Picture of Sound, Brendan cut his teeth on the early Northwest rave circuit. Since moving to Oakland a few years ago, he has continued to refine his techno sound, and now enjoys regular playouts in the San Francisco and Oakland area.

George Holland
Subsensory
Portland, OR

Closing out the night is the one and only George Holland. George cut his own rave chops in the very early Oregon techno scene as well as played many of Californias beloved Spundae nights. His signature banging warehouse rave sound will keep your booty bumping!

As always, Travis of Atmospheric lighting will be making sure the room will be full of LED happiness. And Jesse of Visceral Visuals on the projection duties.

Sound by the ever massive BRNX 2.0 sound system!
